Before you start the test, you will need a 365 nm UV light source. For example, you cannot use 395 nm light, as it is not UV light—it's like using red light instead of green light. When you add a small amount of your sample, you will notice that Vial A changes from orange to green, and then back to orange. Meanwhile, Vial B will immediately turn light orange. However, this color change alone does not confirm the presence of testosterone acetate. To confirm, you must perform a UV test using a 365 nm UV light source. Look for the characteristic green fluorescence surrounded by dark yellow. This is how a sample with a concentration of 100 mg/ml appears after adding three drops using an 18-gauge needle. Note that just one drop will not produce the green fluorescence. This fluorescence closely resembles that of testosterone enanthate, except that testosterone enanthate would produce blue fluorescence, not green. The type of oil used as a carrier does not affect whether the sample will fluoresce if a hormone is present. However, the intensity of the fluorescence may vary depending on the oil used, as different oils absorb and reflect light in different ways..
